Maynard Ellingworth, 81, Twin Valley, MN died Sunday June 30, 2019 at Viking Manor Nursing Home.

Maynard J. Ellingworth was born in Twin Valley, MN the son of Abner and Barbra (Birkeland) Ellingworth. He was raised with his family in Twin Valley where he attended school. Maynard was baptized and confirmed in his faith at the Zion Lutheran Church in May 1952. He later graduated from the Twin Valley High School with the class of 1955. After graduation, Maynard worked for Abbot Arne & Schwindt Construction for a few years before becoming the Twin Valley Liquor Store Manager. He served as the Liquor Store Manager for over 23 years. Following his retirement from the city, Maynard was employed at the Whispering Winds restaurant in the Shooting Star Casino for 10 years. After his second retirement, he could often be found at the Twin Valley Lounge playing cards with his friends. Maynard was also an avid sports fan, watching both baseball and football in his spare time.

Maynard is survived by his long-time friend and companion Audrey Airhart of Twin Valley, MN; his son Maynard Blair of Minneapolis, MN; one grandson , Luke and two great grandchildren, Caitlin and Andrew, one brother, Phil (Lucy) Ellingworth of Gary, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Abner and Barbara; four brothers: John, Gordon, Howard, and Russell; and three sisters, Gladys, Marvel, and Shirley.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6 at the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley, MN. Inurnment will be in the Twin Valley City Cemetery.
