On May 10, 2013, Erin and Nathan Shaw of Hawley, MN, welcomed twin sons, Benjamin Brian and Matthew Carl into the world prematurely. Those exciting moments of pregnancy turned to sorrow with the death of little Matthew Carl Shaw at 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Sanford Health Systems in Fargo, ND.

Matthew was fighting hard, we supplied him with every option to sustain him that we could. He deserved the effort. God's plan was different though and we were left to hold Matthew as he passed into his everlasting life. We only got to touch, see and know Matthew for just over a day. However, we will be forever impacted by the sweetness, innocence, and love for which we have for him.
Rest in peace Matthew, Mom and Dad.

Matthew is survived by his twin brother, Benjamin; parents, Erin and Nathan of Hawley; grandparents: Teresa (Brian) Weleski of Lancaster, MN, Carl and Susan Shaw of Ulen, MN; great-grandmas: Betty Weleski of Lancaster, Lynn Hlucny of Greenbush, MN, and Gladys Ingebretsen of Moorhead, MN; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding Matthew in death were his great-grandpas: Earl Ingebretsen, Claus Weleski and Roy Hlucny, and great-grandparents, Bonnie and Clifford Shaw.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Hawley, MN.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Interment was in the North Bethlehem Cemetery, Ulen, MN.
