Mary Ann Quick, 82, of rural Borup, MN, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at her home under the care of her family and Hospice.

Mary Ann was born June 14, 1935, at Glenwood, MN, the daughter of William and Marguerite (Cummins) Thompson. She attended a one room school house near their farm until the 6 ^th grade when she transferred to the Glenwood High School, where she graduated in 1953.

She started her career working for State Farm Insurance for a year. She followed that as an employee of Otter Tail Power Company in Morris, MN, where she was a stenographer for 5 years.

Clarence and Mary Ann met through her roommate. They married shortly after on March 12, 1960, and moved to Clarence's farm near Borup, MN. Their first home was a trailer with no running water. Soon after they moved a house in on the farm. A few years later they moved in another house and built between them. Together they were blessed with 4 children. Mary Ann helped out on the farm, doing many different jobs. They started Quick Sales, selling cedar shakes, lumber, dust helmets, and skid steers. In 1983 they built their log house on the farm. After Clarence died in 1988, she remained on the farm until 1998, when she moved across the field to another country home.

Mary Ann loved to sew, quilt, and crochet. She also enjoyed flower gardening, reading, cooking and baking, playing games, doing puzzles, and photography. She was an avid collector of dolls, spoons, and quarters. She also enjoyed traveling, birdwatching, flowers, and attending her grandchildren's events. Her love of family and strong faith carried her during these times of illness.

She is survived by her children, Wanda (Richard) Cavett, Enderlin, ND, Kevin (Melanie) Quick, Borup, MN, Randy Quick, Fargo, ND, Cindy (Steve) Freiss, Falcon, CO, her 8 grandchildren, Calvin, Craig, Kirk, and Corwin Cavett, Danika, Tyrel, and Katrina Quick, and Colten Freiss. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, and her sister Sylvia Thompson.

Funeral: 10:30AM Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Felton (MN) Community Center.

Visitation: 5:00PM to7:00PM on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home in Ada.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
