Marvin "Moss" Tibbetts Sr., age 68, of Waubun, MN, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, in Mahnomen, MN.

Marvin was born on March 27, 1956, in San Diego, CA, to Burnham and Marion Tibbetts (Sargeant).  Marvin married Lynn Olson of Grand Portage, MN, on December 6, 1974, in Grand Portage, MN, and together they shared a life full of love, adventure, and cherished memories. He was proud to be a graduate of Moorhead State University in 1992, and his life was further enriched by the birth of his three sons, Marvin Louis Tibbetts Jr., Jeffrey Allen Tibbetts, and Dennis Anthony "Butch" Tibbetts.   Over the years, Moss became a devoted grandpa, finding joy in the lives of his grandchildren: Emmett Tibbetts, Shaylyn Tibbetts, Taylor Tibbetts, Alexandra Tibbetts, Emily Tibbetts, Jensen Tibbetts, Dennis Tibbetts Jr., Meresa Tibbetts, Briella Tibbetts, Austin Thompson, Niko Carmichael, and Azaleah Bloom.

Moss' greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed taking rides with his wife, Lynn, and looked forward to summer days tending to his little garden. He was an avid fan of old western movies, loved reading books by the warmth of the wood stove, and loved a cup of black coffee.  Moss had a fun-loving side, always looking forward to visits to the casino where he played his promos and often kept his jackpots a secret from Lynn. He also looked forward to hunting season and taking long rides on the back roads with his sons. A passionate fisherman, Moss was well known for his skill in smoking fish for anyone who brought it to him. Marvin's life was also marked by his numerous achievements throughout his career. His work ethic and dedication earned him many awards, reflecting his commitment to everything he set his mind to.

A life well lived, Marvin "Moss" Tibbetts will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and the simple joys of life will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Moss is survived by his beloved wife, Lynn Tibbetts; sons, Jeff and Dennis Tibbetts Sr.; grandchildren: Emmett, Shaylyn, Taylor, Alexandra, Emily, Jensen, Dennis Jr., Meresa, Briella, Austin, Niko, and Azaleah; two brothers: Burnham "Buck" (Mary) Tibbetts, Bernard "Bimbo" (Bette) Tibbetts; and one sister, Judy Tibbetts; and many extended family members and friends.
