Mark Kulzer, age 64, of Bejou, MN, died on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home.
Mark Ervin Kulzer was born on March 18, 1957 in Ada, MN, to Melvin and Anna (Sand) Kulzer. Mark, along with his 14 siblings, grew up on the farm outside of Bejou. He attended school in Bejou until 8th grade when he transferred to Mahnomen High school. Mark graduated with the class of 1976 and began working at American Crystal Sugar in Crookston. He later worked along side his brother-in-law and best friend, Sonny, on his farm milking cows for nearly 13 years. Never to let his hands be idle, Mark began working at JC & J Trucking in Bejou hauling gravel and later worked at the Winger and Fertile Elevator. Mark's final career began at Charp's Welding and Fabricating where he enjoyed doing all aspects of the job.
Mark enjoyed being active and his compassionate nature led him to spend his free time helping his friends and family with various projects. One of his favorites was painting old tractors and cars and giving them new life. He greatly enjoyed "making things look nice", especially when it came to his yard, a habit that was passed onto his children. When he did take some time for himself, he enjoyed a cold beer while watching the Hallmark Channel and football. Mark will forever be remembered for his very friendly, laidback personality and generous heart.
Mark is survived by his children: Kizzia Kulzer, Jesse Kulzer, Elizabeth (Danny) Ystenes, and Emily Kulzer (Joseph Jiao-Harrington); grandchildren: Abigail, Brady, Jesse, Madeline, Olivia, Julian, Layne, Emelia, Milo; beloved furry grandchild, Finley; brothers: Michael Kulzer, Joseph (Lynette) Kulzer, David (Candace) Kulzer, and Matthew (Lindilou) Kulzer; sisters: Diane Osenga, Patricia VanderKlaauw; Claire (Ron) Pottle, and Donna (Lynn) Hewitt; brothers-in-law, Sal Ligamaro and Gene Bendickson; and sister-in-law, Marge Kulzer, and many nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Noah Kulzer; brothers, Peter, James, and Stephen; sisters, Marlene, Elizabeth, and Laura; brothers-in-law, Peter and Lawrence; sister-in-law, Karen; nephew, Jacob; and great-niece, Lily.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the North Country Foodbank in Crookston ( https://www.northcountryfoodbank.org/donate.html ) an organization that was very close to Mark's heart.
