Marjorie (Stene) Scott, 91, formerly of Ada, MN, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Sanford Hospital, Thief River Falls, MN.

Marjorie began life's journey October 11, 1927, in Anthony Township, Minnesota, as one of five children. Her mother, Eva Mae Sites, died when Margie was five years old.  Her Grandma Scott moved to the family farm to help Margie's father, George, raise the children.  George married Belle Hallom in 1941, and the family moved to Oregon.

In 1943, Margie married Delbert Stover, and from that union they had a daughter, Margaret (Peggy). They divorced in 1945, and Margie moved back to Minnesota.

In 1946, Margie married Albin Stene, and they started their farm. Their family grew with the addition of three sons:  James, Michael and Brian.  Margie enjoyed being a mom and a homemaker.  She was an avid gardener who enjoyed all things outdoors.  She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and ceramics.  Margie was an active member of the East Marsh River Lutheran Church.

When they retired from farming in 1973, Margie and Albin moved to a home just west of Ada. In 1984, they moved to New Mexico for a few years, and then returned to live in Ada until Albin passed away.  They enjoyed traveling and making many memories along the way.

In 1998, Margie married Kenneth Scott and moved to his home in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, where she enjoyed the country life hidden within the city. They enjoyed traveling and road trips to see family.  In 2002, Margie and Ken moved to a retirement community in IGH where they continued to enjoy their Amazing Grace Lutheran Church family and appreciated their time spent with friends and family.  After Ken's passing in 2017, Margie moved to Greenleaf Assisted Living in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, and recently had moved to Oakland Park Nursing Home in TRF.  Margie continued to cherish her time with family and friends.

Margie is survived by her four children: Margaret (Dennis) Gordon of Thief River Falls, James (Linda) Stene of Ada, Michael (June) Stene of Ada, and Brian (Tami) Stene of Inver Grove Heights; step children: Susan (David) Larson of Lakeville, Julie (Tony) Nelson of Lakeville, and Linda (Mike) Johanix-Scott of Prior Lake; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and her siblings: Gertie, Irma, Lester, Leon and nephew, Kenny Stene.

Funeral: 11:00AM Monday, April 15, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.

Visitation: Sunday, April 14, 2019, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30PM at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Burial: East Marsh River Lutheran Cemetery, rural Halstad, MN.
