Obituary

Marjorie Katherine Pederson, age 79, of Bejou, MN, died peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2015, at the loving home of her daughter in Kewanee, IL, after a brief struggle with cancer.

Born July 4, 1936, in Mahnomen, MN, the daughter of Leland Busse and Veronica Martin, she grew up on a farm with eight wonderful siblings. As a teenager, Marge loved her friends and dancing. After graduating from Mahnomen High School in 1954, she moved to Crookston, MN, to work as a secretary and finally back to Mahnomen. On May 28, 1960, she married Edmond Pederson at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Beaulieu, MN. Together they farmed near Bejou and raised five children. As a homemaker, Marge loved to sew, cook and garden; but God, family, and friends always came first. Marge was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was an affiliate of Catholic Daughters, helped teach religious education, and participated in Bible studies. She always strove to provide a loving, welcoming home for all and her greatest price was her grandchildren, all 24 of them.

Marjorie is survived by four sons: Joel (Melinda) of Fargo, Neal (Sherry) of Bejou, Earl (Jana) of Bejou, and Mark (Kristi) of Warren; one daughter, Annette (Richard) Jackson of Kewanee, IL; one brother, Jim (Diane) Busse; four sisters: Sue (Richard) Buche of Hackensack, MN, Janice Busse of Mahnomen, Patricia (Duane) Spaeth of Mahnomen, and Christy (Jeff) Olson of Wilton, ND, and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edmond, two brothers, William and Myron, and one sister, Lois.

We thank you, God, for Your faithful servant Marjorie K. Pederson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 2 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Mahnomen.
