Marjorie "Marge" Clifton (Glover), formerly of Mahnomen and Twin Valley, MN, passed away under the care of Hospice on August 23, 2025, surrounded by her family and the caring staff at Benedictine Care Community in Ada, MN.

Marge was born on July 21, 1941, in Pequot Lakes, MN, to Marion (Davis) and Leslie Glover. She was the second of four children and spent her childhood between Waubun, MN, and Sumner, WA.

After graduating from Sumner High School in 1959, she returned to Naytahwaush, MN, where she met and married William " Bill' G. Clifton on November 9, 1960.  They made their home primarily in and around the Roy Lake and Mahnomen area until years later when they retired and moved to Twin Valley.  Together they raised five children.

Marge lived a life centered around family and friendship. She worked in several roles over the years—including waitress, certified nurse assistant, and caregiver—but the time she cherished most was the time she spent with children.

Marge had a passion for music, reading, gardening, and especially fishing—rarely turning down the chance to cast a line. She loved her coffee times and long visits with friends, and she was always ready for a road trip or new adventure. She was known for her humor, her generous spirit, and her ability to find happiness in life's simple moments.

Marge will be greatly missed by her children: Jeff (Karolyn) Clifton of Plummer, MN, Kathy Kalinoski of Coon Rapids, MN, and Kay Clifton of Glyndon, MN; daughter-in-law, Felecia Clifton of East Grand Forks, MN; her sister, Joan Dole of Toledo, WA; 15 grandchildren; a growing number of great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Alfed LaDoux; husband, Bill; daughter, Roberta Scheff; son, William Dean Clifton; sister, Gayle Matthews, and brother, John Glover.

Funeral services for Marge will be Friday, August 29, 2025 at 3pm at Anderson Funeral Home in Twin Valley, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior with refreshments to follow.  Inurnment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Mahnomen at a later date.
