Marie (Boeddeker) Orvik Ada, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at age 99 years and one week in Red Oak, Iowa, with her family.

She was born on April 11, 1924, in Traill County, North Dakota, to Florence and Henry Boeddeker. She attended school in Herberg Consolidated School, Grandin, Caledonia, Crookston, and graduated from Halstad High School in 1942.

During WWII, Marie was Rosie the Riveter at Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego, California. After the war, she attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, North Dakota. She married Kenneth Orvik on July 19, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, Minnesota. They celebrated 50 years of marriage together in Ada, Minnesota. Marie worked at the City Clerk's Office in Ada for her career. Marie enjoyed traveling, quilting, study club, attending programs at the Norman County Historical Museum, and coffee with friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Kenneth Orvik; her parents; and thirteen siblings.  Marie is survived by two daughters, Susan and her spouse Ordean Hegrenes of Rochester, Minnesota, and Kerry and her spouse Kevin Hohbach of Red Oak, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jon and Mary Hegrenes, Corbin and Anika of Rochester, Minnesota, Aaron and Tara Hegrenes, and Adam of Rochester, Minnesota,  Jason and Stefanie Hegrenes, Emily, Owen, Eli, and Evan of Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, Britt and Kelly Otte, Katie, Parker, and Brody of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Ryan and Janessa Winroth, Jacob, and Jackson of Johnston, Iowa. Marie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Monday, April 24, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.

Visitation: 9:30 AM until the time of the service at Grace Lutheran Church.

Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
