Marie Kazeck, 86, of Twin Valley, MN died Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Viking Manor Nursing home in Ulen, MN.

Mary Marie Severance was born August 17, 1933 to Clifton and Ferne (Anderson) Severance in North Loup, NE.  Marie grew up on a farm near Ord, NE and attended a small country school where she graduated the 8 ^th grade.  Being the third of eight children, Marie helped her mother take care of her siblings and her father with the farm chores.  On April 19, 1952, in Ord, NE, she married Duaine F. Kazeck of Glasgow, MT.  Due to various job opportunities they moved between Montana and Nebraska.  In 1967, they moved to Moorhead, MN and shortly thereafter, in 1968, to Erskine, MN.  In 1975, the family moved to Twin Valley where they made their permanent home.  Marie was a stay at home mom taking care of her seven children.  When all her children were in school, Marie returned to the workforce at the nursing home in Twin Valley as a Nurse's Aide.  She enjoyed working with her coworkers and taking care of the residents.  After working for 17 years, she retired due to back problems.  Over the years, she enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, and quilting.  She also liked reading books, playing games, coloring, and many fun trips to the casino with friends.  Marie really loved to travel and had taken tips to Boston, MA for her daughter's wedding; Niagara Falls, NY; Sears Tower in Chicago, IL; Black Hills, SD; Pikes Peak in Colorado; and Fort Peck Dam in Montana.  She especially enjoyed her visits to family in Montana, Nebraska, and Indiana.  It was always a great time when the family traveled to Nebraska or they came up top see her.  She also loved getting hugs.  Marie was an active member of Wild Rice Lutheran Church and WELCA of Twin Valley.  She greatly enjoyed the visits from the pastor.  She was a volunteer for the Caring Community Auxiliary which involved many fundraising activities.  Because of varying health issues, she moved into the Twin Valley Living Center in 2012.  In October of 2018, because of the closing of the TVLC, Marie moved to the Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen.

Marie is survived by one son Cliff (Edna) Kazeck of Ada, MN; four daughters: Linda (Greg) Burda of Sterling, IL, Sharon (Dennis) Riepe of Ada, Gaylene (Robert) Svobodny of Twin Valley, and Vicki (Eric) Tautenhan of Waverly, NE; eight grandchildren: Bryan Kazeck, Josh Svobodny, Tracy Riepe, Shannon Kalash, Toni Nysetvold, Jill Baer, Beth Burda, and Kyle Tautenhan;  twelve great-grandchildren: Dylan Nysetvold, Hunter Baer, Brendon Giesler, Trista Baer, Shawn Kazeck, Caden Nysetvold, Kinzley Svobodny, Caleb Kazeck, Madison Kalash, Brady Kalash, Joseph Baer, and Kara Nysetvold; one brother, Gene Severance; and three sisters, Evelyn Wampole, Alice Wetzel and Caroline Kinney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duaine; two sons, Larry and Leo; her parents, one sister, two brothers, and one nephew.
