Marian Joyce (Evans) Anderson, 75, of Fertile, MN, died Wednesday July 3, 2013, at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, MN.
Marian was born on February 7, 1938, in Fergus Falls, MN to Osborn and Barbara (Lee) Evans of Ulen, MN. She attended school in Ulen graduating in 1956. Marian moved to Fargo, ND after graduation and worked at Fargo National Bank.
On November 13, 1959, Marian was united in marriage to Kenneth Anderson in Fargo, ND. In 1967, Marian, Ken and their three daughters moved to Southern California for several years before returning to MN in 1972. They moved to Fertile in 1973. Marian was the assistant librarian at the Fertile Public library for twelve years. She also was superintendant of Arts and Crafts open class for thirty five years at the Polk County Fair. She was employed at the Fertile Journal for thirty years as typesetter/bookkeeper, retiring in 2011. Marian moved into the Fair Meadow Nursing Home in 2011, lived there for two years before moving into Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine.
Marian was a longtime member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Her Christian faith was a very important part of her life. She was an avid reader and loved to write poetry. She was very interested in genealogy, writing her family history book "From the Trunk to Twigs." She was on the Centennial Book Committee for the "These Our Roots". Her love of gardening began early, on the family farm in Ulen. She enjoyed her Red Hat ladies and exercise groups, having coffee with friends, and, most of all, spending time with family.
Marian is survived by her daughters: Jenny (Bob) Rine, Edina, MN; Cindy (Lee) Abrahamson, Fertile, MN; Becky (Kyle) Tucker, Gary, MN; five grandchildren and one great- granddaughter; two brothers: Ron (Twillia) Evans, Ulen, MN; David Evans, Ulen, MN; two sisters: Joan (Bill) Strand, Ulen, MN; Judy (Randy) Farabee, Aurora, CO; one sister-in-law: Beth (Rev. Chuck) Bunnell, Chatsworth, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Kenneth.

Funeral services will be on Monday, July 8 2013, at 11 am in the Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile, MN.

Visitation will be one hour before the services in the church.

Burial will be in the Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Fertile, MN.
