Margie C. Sorenson, 92, Ada, MN, died Saturday November 17, 2012, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Margie, daughter of Frederick and Frances (Schimanski) Steinke was born April 9, 1920, in Danzig, Germany. When Margie was six months old her family moved to the United States. She attended school in Ada.

On January 21, 1942, she was united in marriage to Harry Sorenson at St Joseph Catholic Church in Ada, MN. Harry left to serve in the U.S. Army in March 1942; while Margie and her parent's ran the Spot Café in Ada. When Harry returned home they made their home in Borup, MN. Margie was a cook at the Borup School and also worked at the local grocery store. They moved to a farm north of Ada. After selling their farm they moved to the Valley View Manor in Ada. Harry died in 2004. For the last year, Margie was a resident of Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo, ND.

Margie loved to crochet; not only for her family but friends as well. She will be remembered as a caring and devoted wife, and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

She is survived by a daughter, Jan Babler, Borup, MN, a son, Rick Sorenson, Fargo, ND, grandchildren; Michelle (Dallas) Hammond, Buxton, ND, Mike (Angie) Babler, Borup, MN, Randy (Joyce) Babler, Moorhead, MN, great-grandchildren, Britney (Trevor) Haugh and Jon Westcott, Matt and Allison Babler, and Alex and Natasha Babler; two great-great grandchildren, Wyatt and Kaydra Haugh. She was preceded by her parents and husband.

Funeral Service: 10:00AM Saturday, November 24, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ada.

Visitation: 5-7PM with a 7PM prayer service all at the church.

Burial: Ada City Cemetery, Ada, MN.
