Margie Lisburg, 83, of Twin Valley, M, died Saturday, September 1, 2007, at MeritCare Hospital Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Margie Vraa, the daughter of Niels and Marie (Borghild) Vraa, was born September 23, 1923 at Gardner, ND. After her birth, her family moved to a farm near Argusville, ND where she attended rural school through the 7th grade. In 1936, they then moved to Harwood, ND where she attended high school. As a young woman, Margie was employed as an elevator operator at Sears, located on Broadway in Fargo, before joining the Navy W.A.V.E.S. in 1943. She returned to Harwood, following her discharge from the service. Margie was united in marriage to Richard E. Lisburg on December 22, 1945 in Fargo. They lived in Harwood and Fargo until 1949, when they moved to Minnesota. They resided on farms near Gary, Ada and Lockhart, MN before buying a farm near Gary in 1962. She worked as a teacher's aide at Twin Valley Public School during the 1970's before returning to school at Minnesota Community Technical College, Moorhead, MN, graduating in 1980. Margie later retired due to ill health.

She was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Twin Valley and the Gary Post #505 of the American Legion.

Surviving are three sons, Rick (Julie) Lisburg, Ada, MN, Gary (Linda), Fargo, ND and Wayne (Alice), Twin Valley, MN; one daughter, Amy (Russ) Jacobson, Lake Park, MN; five grandchildren, Christie Roux, Nick Lisburg, Jeremy, Nathan and Matt Lisburg; and two great grandchildren; Brandon Lisburg and Morgan Roux. Preceding her in death were her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday Sept. 5th at 10:30 am at St. William Catholic Church, Twin Valley, MN. A family and friends gethering will be Tuesday, Sept. 4th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a rosary starting at 7:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel.
