Margaret Rothschadl, 88, of Moorhead, formerly Waubun, MN, died Saturday June 6, 2015, in Essentia Hospital, Fargo, ND. Margaret A. Doll was born October 23, 1926, the daughter of Theodore and Christine (Schmitz) Doll at Dumont, MN. She was raised in the Dumont community where she attended school through the 8th grade. After her mother's death, Margaret moved to Waubun, where she lived with her sister, Florentine, and her family. At the completion of three years of high school in Waubun, they moved to Inglewood, CA, where Margaret graduated with the class of 1944. Following graduation, Marge was first employed in a pottery factory where she operated a kiln before going to work in a dime Store in Burbank, CA. When World War II ended, Marge moved to St. Paul, MN, and worked in the office of Brown & Bigelow. Upon returning to the Waubun and Mahnomen area she worked at the Scheiler Dress Shop. In 1946, Margaret was united in marriage to Richard Rothschadl at St. Joseph's Catholic Church near Beaulieu, MN. The couple made their home on a farm near Waubun before moving to Seattle, WA, for one year. Upon returning to Waubun, they purchased Richard's family farm in 1956 and together operated the grain and dairy cattle farm for 48 years. In 2004, they sold the farm and moved into Mahnomen. Margaret enjoyed her role with the Helping Hands Food Shelf in Mahnomen for several years. She was also know for her baking, especially the wonderful Kolache's she often made as a special treat for her family. With their health failing, Richard and Marge decided to move to Dilworth, MN, to be closer to their children in 2013. Richard died May 7, 2015 and Marge had most recently become a resident of the Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead, MN. Margaret is survived by a daughter, Sharon Walz of Moorhead; four sons: Gale (Linda) of Dilworth, Rodney (Diane) of Thief River Falls, MN, Richard of Boise, ID, and Randy (Deanne) of Dilworth; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Rothschadl of Dilworth; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ted of Auburn, WA, and Kelly of Ravensville, WA; four sisters: Joan Canady of Puyallup, WA, Bernice Bohnenstingl of Wheaton, MN, Mae Donahe of Chehalis, WA, and Annie (Jerry) Jipson of Graceville, MN, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 68 years, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry; one grandson, Michael; and six siblings. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10th at 10:30am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church; Beaulieu, MN. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a prayer service at 6:30pm, all at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, Mahnomen, MN. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Beaulieu.
