Marge Rogers, age 72, of Waubun, MN, died on Friday, June 15, 2018 at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Margaret Ann was born in White Earth, MN, on June 17, 1945, the daughter of William Bliss and Theresa Weaver.  She was raised in Borup, MN, where she graduated with the class of 1964.  Following graduation, Marge moved to the Minneapolis, MN, area to make her home.  Marge was blessed with five children: Stacy, Brenda, Patrice, Tony and Kara.  She would return to the White Earth Reservation in 1978 and continue to raise her family.  Marge was employed by the White Earth RTC from 1978-1992 followed by the Shooting Star Casino for 17½ years, closing out her employment as a Gaming Manager.  Marge was united in marriage to Jim "Custer" Wilt on August 22, 1992, and the couple has made their home together on South Twin Lake since that time.

Throughout the years, Marge had many hobbies including Marge's Fur Shack, Indian leg wrestling, traveling and playing Bar Bingo and Keno.  She loved to visit and be around people, especially her family at the lake.  She also enjoyed fishing, just floating around on the pontoon and her dog, Buddy.  However, above all was her passion for slow pitch softball.  She was the star pitcher for Gorhams Construction, an AA Team out of the twin cities who won the state championship!  She continued to play softball for many years, even after returning to Mahnomen.

Surviving Marge is her husband, Custer, of Waubun; children: Stacy (Jay) Agnew, of Mahnomen, Patrice Alexander of Mahnomen, Tony (Shannon) Jurina of Kansas City, KA, Kara (Adam) Tilley of Norman, OK and step-son, Jay (Sandy) Jurina also of Mahnomen; 13 grandchildren: Rosemarie (Darryl) Gaddy, Abby Olson, Kyle Olson, Amy (Gary) Nelson, Chaz Alexander, Ashly Hafdahl, Amber Scott, Sean Merrill, Nathan Millage, Nick Millage, Tylor Neuman, Kody Field and Kole (Libby) Field; nine great grandchildren: Morgan, Gavin, Ava, Evie, Chelsea, Bailey, Isaak, Tyresse, and Jamison; one brother, Dale (Linda) Rogers of St. Cloud, MN.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda; mother, Theresa Shaide; sister, Sue Rogers; brother, Robert "Wimpy" Shaide and her dog, Dusty.

A time of gathering will be held at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 pm. A Memorial Service will be at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Naytahwaush, MN.
