Marcus James Gordon, a constant home renovator, sports lover, diehard Bison fan, championship BBQer and above all else, a dedicated and loving family man, died tragically Friday, November 18, 2016, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Marcus had a deep love for his family, especially his three children, Nick (25), Payton (19), and Macey (14). He could always be found at the racetrack with his sons or attending his children's sporting events.
Marcus loved cooking and smoking meat and competed in BBQ competitions throughout the area. He also donated his time to cook for many events in and around Ada, including school athletic events and his aunt's annual memorial golf tournament. His selflessness and willingness to do things for others will be remembered by all who knew him.
Marcus spent most of his life working in agriculture, most recently at Titan Machinery in Ada, MN. Prior to that, he worked for Crookston Implement and Konkin's John Deere. He was born October 29, 1975, and graduated from Ada-Borup High School in 1994.
Marcus is survived by his wife, Shelley (Johnson) of Ada; two sons, Nick and Payton; daughter, Macey; mother, Debbie Gordon of Ada; father, Steven Gordon of Borup, MN; sister, Shaunna (Chris) Johnson of Holdingford, MN; father-in-law, Sheldon "Butch" Johnson of Ada; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Marcus was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew; his grandparents, James and Phyllis Gordon and Kenneth and Della Kroshus; mother-in-law, Susie Johnson; uncle, Howard Kroshus; uncle, Loren Gordon; and aunt, Karen Peppel.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ada. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Grace Lutheran. Burial will take place at Winchester Lutheran Cemetery in Borup.
