Manuel Madrigal Barbosa, of Halstad, MN, was born on June 17, 1949, to Irene and Maximino Barbosa. Manuel passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

In his early adult years Manuel traveled all over the United States following the harvest. In the mid-1970s he moved up north to Minnesota and began working for Warner Farms for the better part of 20+ years, where he became the foreman. After working for Warner Farms, he worked for Randy Lemm and retired from his agricultural career. Manuel was best known to be hard-working, someone who you could trust and would help those in need. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Red River Valley. He was also a great storyteller and loved to joke around and pull pranks on people, especially his daughters. He loved to garden and work on his John Deere lawn mowers and be outside enjoying the bird's chirp. He was a well-respected community member of Halstad, MN. He will be dearly missed by many people who have had the pleasure to be in his presence.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Maximino Barbosa; and brothers, Maximino and Esequiel Barbosa. He is survived by his sister, Lina (Domingo) Rodriguez of Fresno, CA; children, Linda (Hector) Sanchez of Jacksonville, TX, Rachel Rogers of Fargo, ND, Irene (Joshua) Briggs of Hendrum, MN, Cecilia (Cody) Knight of Valley City, ND, Mercedes (Andrew) Moreno of Fargo, ND, Victor Barbosa of Fargo, ND and Margarita Barbosa of Ada, MN; grandchildren, Jade, Jocelyn, Daniel, Chela, Sophia, Michael, and a future grandchild arriving in June of 2023; great-grandchild, Sophia (Jade); and many other friends and family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Halstad, MN, with a funeral mass to begin at 1:30 PM.

Interment will be in Halstad South Cemetery, Halstad, MN, at a later date.
