Mae B. Wilt, age 84, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on April 28, 2020, at the Hawley Living Center in Hawley, MN.

Mae was born May 25, 1935, in Thief River Falls, MN, to Frank and Mathilda (Thiesen) Doerfler of Mahnomen, MN. She attended Rainbow Country School followed by Mahnomen Public School. Mae married Richard Wilt in 1953, and the couple settled on the Wilt farm near Mahnomen, where they farmed for many years.

Mae was a person of many talents and gifts. She enjoyed all crafts including sewing, quilting, crocheting, wood working and making furniture. Mae had an "I can do" attitude and she did it. She was the absolute pioneer woman, doing everything that needed to be done on the farm, in addition to raising a family. Mae loved music and listening to the radio, dancing and sitting by the campfire. If anyone started a beanbag or softball game, she wanted to get in there and play. Mae    loved a good joke and had a great sense of humor. She will be so greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are four daughters: Renee (Wayne) Pender of Detroit Lakes, MN, Debra (Paul) Sundsvold of Deerwood, MN, Renita (Jim) Selzler of Waubun, MN, and Denise (Mark) McCollum of Hawley, MN; one son, Charles (Nicole) Wilt of Badger, MN; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dolores Swanson of Edina, MN; one brother, Virgil Doerfler of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Lorayne Schultz of Little Canada, MN, and Faye Sample of Moorhead, MN.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; daughter, Deanne Singer; grandson, Joshua Sundsvold; great-grandson, Joshua Pender; sisters: Leona Schaunessy, Lillian Smith, and Muriel Large; brothers, Robert, Edward, Jack and Donald Doerfler.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
