M. Beatrice Benson Foster, 92, Ada, Minnesota, died Monday, January 2, 2017, at Benedictine Care Community, Ada, MN.

May Beatrice Monson was born at home on October 12, 1924, in Winchester Township, near Ada. She was the oldest daughter of Bert and Mabel (Halverson) Monson. She was baptized on November 16, 1924, by Rev. Jordal and later confirmed at First Lutheran in Ada by Rev. E.G. Larson. She attended country grade school and graduated from Borup (MN) High School.

"Bea" worked at various Ada businesses, retiring from Ada Municipal Hospital where she worked as receptionist for 18 years. She was united in marriage to Bloyd Benson in April of 1946 and together they raised 3 sons. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Ada VFW Auxiliary. Bloyd died in 1992.

Bea was united in marriage to Duane Foster in 1993, and they made their home in Ada. Bea was very talented in crochet, embroidery and fine needlework. She brought home many blue ribbons from the Norman County Fair craft show. Without hesitation she would donate or give away most of her work to anyone interested. Bea loved her flower and vegetable gardens. You could tell by their beauty all the T.L.C. they had received. This was very evident in her and Duane's lifestyle with their involvement with the less fortunate and hospitality showed to anyone that stopped for a visit. Duane died in 2010. Bea had lived at home until moving the Benedictine Care Community in 2013.

Bea is survived by two sons, Bruce (Dawn) Benson, and Brian (Jill) Benson, both of West Fargo, ND, her grandchildren, Kristopher (Nicole) Benson, Gretta (Chad) Johnson, Marni (Andrew) Moch, Gretchen Wagendorf, Greta (Dave) Hatton, and Bennett Benson, two step daughters, Robin (Jay) McNamar, and Nancy Foster, two step grandchildren, Andrea Loe and Jaime (Tyrone) Canaday, four sisters, Elaine (Delmer) Hellerud, Harbor City, CA, Joyce Scott, Fargo, ND, Arleen Braaten, Felton, MN, Dorothy (Wayne) Hasz, Lester Prairie, MN, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Bloyd and Duane, and one son Blair.

Funeral: 11:00AM Monday, January 9, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.

Visitation: For one hour before the funeral at the church.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
