Lyle Wayne Solie, 65, of Fertile, MN, died on Monday, September 19, 2016, at his residence.

Lyle was born on May 7, 1951, at Crookston, MN, to Vernon and Erma (Gudvangen) Solie. He attended school in Fertile. Following his schooling, Lyle began working for the City of Fertile doing maintenance.

On June 29, 1974, Lyle was united in marriage to Vickie Olson at Elim Lutheran Brethren Church, Clearbrook, MN. Lyle worked at American Crystal in Crookston and Supersweet Feed in Fertile. In 1985, Lyle began working for Lee's Nursery, Fertile, being employed there until 2009. Lyle was a currently employed at Kaste Seeds Inc. of Fertile. Lyle was a lifelong active member at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile.

Lyle was gentle and quiet with a subtle sense of humor. He loved teasing his nieces and nephews. Gardening vegetables, manicuring the yard, and gathering with family and friends brought Lyle a lot of joy and pride. Lyle loved the outdoors, spending many times camping and fishing with family and friends. He always put others before himself and would help when others had a need. More than anything, Lyle was a family man who cherished his family.

Lyle is survived by his wife: Vickie, Fertile, MN; two sons: Chris and Nick, Fertile, MN; sisters: Shirley (Monty) Halgrimson and Audrey (Randy) Olson, of Fertile; one brother-in-law, Larry Hassel, Fertile; uncles, aunts and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Judy Hassel.

Funeral: 10:30AM Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile, MN.

Visitation: one hour before the services at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile, MN.

Burial: Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Fertile.
