Lyle Sandal, age 93, of Twin Valley, MN, died Monday, November 07, 2016, in Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley.

Lyle S. Sandal was born January 21, 1923, the only child of Sivert and Lillie (Erickson) Sandal, at his parent's farm in Home Lake Township, MN. As a youngster, Lyle was baptized and confirmed his faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He moved with his parents into Twin Valley for a time before making their home on the family farm southeast of Twin Valley in 1934. It was here that Lyle attended Woodland Nook Country School and called home for almost 80 years. Lyle attended school in Twin Valley, graduating from Twin Valley High School with the class of 1941. Together with his father, they raised dairy cattle and small grains. After his father's death in 1957, Lyle continued to operate the farm with his mother. Once Lyle retired from farming, he rented out the farmland for many years. Lyle cared for his mother in her later years of life. After her death in 1993, Lyle continued to live on the farm until moving into the Twin Valley Living Center in December of 2013, where he lived until the time of his death.

Lyle was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, until the church closed. He then became a member of Aspelund Lutheran Church in Flom. He was also a member of the Flom Lions, and for many years, Lyle was the Sexton of Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Lyle is survived by a several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 11, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Twin Valley Cowboy Church, Twin Valley. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
