Lyle Goff, age 86, of Port Orchard, Washington, formerly of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Monday, July 17, 2006, in Harrison Memorial Hospital, Bremerton, Washington.

Lyle V. Goff was born February 14, 1920, the son of Stephen and Ruth (Bingham) Goff in Woden, Iowa. Lyle served his country in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945 during World War II, where he was wounded in action and held as a prisoner of war in Italy.

Lyle was united in marriage to Jean Reitan on December 3rd, 1946, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. The couple made their home east of Waubun, Minnesota, where they owned and operated a lumber mill. They later moved to Omak, Washington. While there, Lyle was employed by Biles and Coleman Lumber Industries. After his retirement, Lyle and Jean moved back to Twin Valley. He enjoyed doing auto repair from their home as a retirement hobby. Jean died in April, 2002.

Lyle is survived by a son, Thomas (Marci) of Port Angeles, WA; four daughters, Suzanne (Edward) Bueng and Joan Bolluyt both of Twin Valley, MN, Linda (Dan) Butler of Fargo, ND and Laura Goff of Erskine, MN; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Carrie and Thora, one brother, Andy and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services was held on Saturday, July 22nd, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley, Minnesota. Officiating was Pastor Charles Bade with Monica Winter serving as vocalist. Pallbearers were Michael Bueng, David Bueng, Neil Wiger, John Hammes, Patrick Andersen and Aaron Andersen. Military Honors were provided by Isaacson-Bjorge Post #31 of the American Legion, Mahnomen, Minnesota.

Interment is located in Riverside Cemetery, Mahnomen, MN
