Lowell Huseby, 88, of Hendrum, MN, died on Monday, April 4, 2016, at Essentia Health, Ada, MN.
Lowell was born on January 22, 1928 in Hendrum to Emma and Conrad Huseby. After graduation from Hendrum High School in 1946, Lowell enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea until his honorable discharge on January 30, 1947. In 1951, he joined the U. S. Air Force and headed to England where he met his wife, Jill Wood, from Birkenhead, England. They were married on June 5, 1954. They were transferred to Edwards Air Force Base (AFB) in California where they made their home in Lancaster, CA and started a family. After spending two years in Ankara, Turkey, Lowell was transferred to McChord AFB in Washington where he enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two sons. Before retiring from the Air Force, Lowell served in the Vietnam War, was stationed in Scott AFB in Illinois, and Japan.
After 22 years of service, Lowell retired from the Air Force and returned to live in Hendrum with his family. After a short break from the Air Force, Lowell went to work at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo, ND and worked in the Security Department for 19 years before retiring at age 65.
Lowell liked to keep himself busy. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served as church trustee for 9 years, served as Commander Adjutant and Finance Officer of Hendrum Legion Post 434 for 30 years, and was a member of the Hendrum Community Club.
He leaves behind his wife, Jill, and two sons – Donald of Rochester, MN and Gregory of Lynnwood, WA. He was preceded in death by his sisters Stella, Evelyn, Agnes, Esther, Verona, and his brothers Herman, Clarence, Vernon, and Clayton.

Visitation: 5:00PM to 7:00PM Thursday at Benedictine Living Community Mission Court Chapel, Ada, MN.
Burial: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hendrum, MN.
