Obituary

Lowell H. Austinson, 85, Ada, Minnesota, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, with his family by his side at Benedictine Care Community, Ada.

Lowell Henry Austinson was born in Ada, on April 15, 1931 to Stennes and Alma (Grondahl) Austinson. He grew up in Hegne Township and attended a one room school for the first seven years of his education. He finished High School in Ada, graduating in 1949. He attended Concordia College and due to his father's failing health, he took over the farm, raising small crops and beef cattle.

Lowell married Clarice Mathison on August 31, 1957, at Rice Lutheran Church near Zerkel, MN. Four sons were born to them. In 1968 they moved to a farm near Ulen, MN, and for the next nineteen years he and the boys raised hogs from farrowing to finish, as well as grain and row crops. In 1987 Lowell and Clarice returned to Ada and built an agriculture manufacturing plant. He retired in 1997. During retirement years he had many health challenges but he faced each one with faith and hope in God.

Lowell served his Lord in each church he attended, often teaching Sunday School and serving on church boards. In 1976 he joined The Gideons International placing Bibles. He appreciated the brotherly Christian fellowship of the group as they prayed and worked together. Often Lowell was proud and entertained as he attended the school activities of sons and grandchildren.
