Lorraine Scheff, age 87, of Mahnomen, MN, died Monday, January 13, 2014, at First Care Medical Services in Fosston, MN, following a short stay.

Lorraine Betty Marie Hogenson was born to Harry and Ethel (Larson) Hogenson at home near Erskine, MN, on August 8, 1926. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Growing up she attended Gosen Country School followed by McIntosh High School. On June 28, 1951, Lorraine was united in marriage to Reuben Scheff in rural Erskine. The couple made their home in rural Mahnomen where they raised their family. Reuben died January 20, 2013, and Lorraine remained on the farm with their son, Todd.

Lorraine is survived by her sons: Robert (Jane) Scheff of Memphis, IN, Dan Scheff of Mahnomen, Kim (Loriann) Scheff of College Park, MD, and Todd Scheff of Mahnomen; six grandchildren: Shawn, Scott, Susan, Steven, Samantha and Skyler, and two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Spencer. She was preceded by her parents, husband, Reuben, and daughter-in-law, Roberta.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bejou, MN.

A time of gathering will be held one hour prior at the church.
