Lorraine Helen Malme, 91, passed away on September 8, 2013 at Halstad Living Center, Halstad, MN. She was born on June 4, 1922 to Henry & Leafie Megrund. Lorraine Helen (Megrund) was born in Shelly, MN and graduated from Climax High School. She and her husband, LeRoy, were married on June 25, 1943, and celebrated 53 years of marriage until his death on January 25, 1996.
Lorraine can best be remembered as the smiling face behind the counter as the Assistant Postmaster in Shelly for 33 years. She also supported her husband, LeRoy, in his farming and was an active member of the Shelly Lutheran Church. They enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, Arizona. Lorraine and LeRoy spent their free time during the summer at a much loved cabin on Lake Eunice, surrounded by a circle of close friends and family. Many a night was spent playing cards and socializing.
Lorraine is survived by her son Ross and wife Jeanne (Craft) residing in Atlanta, Georgia and her daughter Connie Lanaro and husband Silvio residing in Monroe, NY; two grandchildren Michon and Matthew (wife Andrea) and four great grandchildren: Daniel, Joseph, Katie, and Emma. She is also survived by her sister, Lucille Boyum, Kasson, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy, and three brothers: Adrian, Wesley, and Harris.

Funeral services will be on Friday, September 13 , 2013, at 11 am in the Shelly-Marsh River Lutheran Church, Shelly, MN.
Visitation will be one hour before the services.
Burial will be at the Shelly Lutheran Cemetery, Shelly, MN.
