Lorraine Brunsberg, 90, Fertile, MN, died Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, in Fertile.

Lorraine Caroline Bennen was born on November 13, 1926, in Crookston, MN, the youngest daughter of Fred and Nellie (Tinkham) Bennen. She grew up in Crookston and graduated from Crookston High School in 1944.

Lorraine was united in marriage to Harvey Hegg on March 20, 1947, and they were blessed with 6 children, Gerald, Wayne, Cheryl, Eugene, Linda, and Jeffrey. They lived in Crookston until Harvey died in 1957. She later moved with her young children to Fertile. She had worked for various café's including Fertile Hotel & Café, Mac's Café, and as a dietary aid at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, where she continued until the age of 80 before she retired. She was a longtime member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Fertile and served with several groups at the church.

Lorraine was married to George "Dodd" Ranz on December 24, 1963. They were blessed with a son, Todd.  Dodd died in 1973. Lorraine was married to Donald Brunsberg for over 25 years, before he died in 1999.

She enjoyed her flowers and plants, reading, embroidery, sewing, playing cards, mostly of all being with her family. She had a special witt about her and was sometime called "mischievous".  Her family times all gathered together were her proudest moments. All special events such as baptisms, confirmations, weddings and other gatherings meant the world to Lorraine.  She was very active in the Fertile American Legion Auxiliary with parades and helped out for years selling Poppy's.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Wayne (Cheryl) Hegg, Linda (Stanley) Aanenson, Jeffrey Hegg, Todd (Loretta) Ranz, all of Fertile, 2 step children, Danny (Ardys) Brunsberg, Debra Holden, her grandchildren, Douglas (Connie) Hegg, Eagle River, AK, David (Brenda) Hegg, Andover, MN, Chad (Angela) Hegg, Moorhead, MN, Tami Jo Pinske (Kevin Olson) Ada, MN, Sophia Ranz, Fertile, and a step grandson, Aaron Holden, Minneapolis. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, Jace, Jessica, Kacie, Tyler, Makayla, Kira, Nolan, Jacelyn, Tanner, Carter, Kadyn, Chloe, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 husbands; 3 children, Gerald, Cheryl Lynn, and Eugene (Bim); her sisters, Lucille Hanson and Viola Christenson; and a grandson, Jamie Aanenson.

Funeral Service: 2:30 PM Monday, March 27, 2017, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fertile, MN.

Visitation: 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Erikson-Vik-Ganje Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.

Burial: Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Fertile, MN.
