Loris Londo LaFriniere, age 63, of Naytahwaush, MN, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at home surrounded by loved ones, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Loris Lynette Londo was born January 10, 1953, in Mahnomen, MN, the daughter of Malcolm and Harriet (Emerson) Londo. Loris grew up on the White Earth Reservation and received her GED in 1972. She later attended the Northwest Vo-Tech in Detroit Lakes, MN, for carpentry. Loris has made her home with the love of her life, Floyd LaFriniere, for the past 44 years in the Naytahwaush & Roy Lake area. Together they raised three daughters and officially tied the knot last week.

Family was first and foremost with Loris, in addition to her morning cup of coffee with Floyd. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She could often be found at the casino, playing Scrabble with her sisters or thrift store shopping with the grandkids and frequently telling stories of the "old days". Loris enjoyed being in the garden early in the morning and liked to share the fruits of her labors with others, mostly as a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed being in the outdoors berry picking with Anita or on the lake during ricing season. Loris was a very caring and compassionate person whose heart took in everyone. She was a foster parent to many wonderful children over the years. She will be greatly missed by many.

Loris is survived by her husband, Floyd, of Naytahwaush; three daughters: Jody Londo, Naytahwaush, Bambi (Jim) Roy, Pine Bend, and Elizabeth (Corey Bush) LaFriniere, Roy Lake, special granddaughter raised like a daughter, Fawn Roy; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers: Merlin, Ray, Corvin (Arlene), Louis and Joel (Lynette) all of Naytahwaush; six sisters: Ardyce McCradie, Grandin, ND, Leah Hagen, Candace (Will) Peters, both of Naytahwaush, Lynn (Duane) Spry, Grand Portage, MN, Dawn "Dolly" Londo and Kitty (Rick) Accobee, both of Naytahwaush; step-brothers: Keith (Karen) Jacobson and Earl Jacobson, both of Hendrum, Leo (Marcie) Jacobson, Walker, MN; step-sister, Lila (Delvis) Jones, Arkansas; step-mother, Opal Londo, Hendrum; sisters-in-law, Edith (Ron) Nefzger, Bejou, MN, Anita Guinn, Roy Lake, many nieces and nephews and extended family. Preceding Loris in death were her parents; sister, Bonnie Wadena; Floyd's parents, Floyd and Gertrude LaFriniere and several extended family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Naytahwaush, MN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:30pm, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Naytahwaush, MN. Inurnment will take place at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Naytahwaush, MN at a later date.
