Obituary

Loren "Wimp" Fabre, age 77 of Waubun, MN, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at Essentia Health Systems in Fargo, ND.

Loren Lee Fabre was born December 21, 1933 in Detroit Lakes, MN, the only son to Leroy and Gertrude (Christensen) Fabre. He grew up on the family farm in Lake Grove Township, rural Waubun. Wimp's education began at the Kersting Country School and continued at Waubun High School, where he graduated with the class of 1951. Following graduation, Wimp began farming with his father. He also owned and operated the Dray Line, hauling coal and cement. On June 26, 1959 Loren was united in marriage to Marjorie Kvare at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waubun. The couple made their home on the Fabre farm until 1965 when they moved to the Kvare Homestead in Popple Grove Township, where they raised their family and continue to live. In the 1980's, Wimp established Loren Fabre, Inc. He continued to farm and operate his trucking business until his declining health forced him to retire.

Wimp's way of life was working, whether it was harvesting the corn, driving truck, or fixing some type of machinery, he truly enjoyed it. In recent years, as the family grew, Wimp enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He also had a special place in his heart for cats.
Wimp was a member of Circles of Faith United Church of Christ in Waubun. He also held memberships with the Waubun School Board and Federal Land Bank Board for several years.

Surviving Wimp is his wife of 52 years, Marge, Waubun; daughters: Margaret (Francis) Liebl, Ada, MN, Mary Kay Fabre, Moorhead, MN, and Karen (Dean) Wills, Fargo, ND; five grandchildren: Julia Liebl, Jade Liebl, Cole Wills, Rhett Kramer, and Lauren Wills; one sister, Diane (Peter) Antonsen, Prior Lake, MN, and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews.
