Loren B. Hauge, 89, Halstad, MN, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at his residence in Halstad, MN, surrounded by his family and under the care of hospice.
Loren Burdeen was born on March 13, 1922 in Hendrum Township, Norman County, MN, to Severin and Hilda (Helgoe) Hauge. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum; and later confirmed at Halstad Lutheran Church, Halstad. Loren graduated from Halstad High School in 1940. He served in the US Army during World War II and the Korean War.
On June 7, 1957, Loren was united in marriage to Darlene Olson in Borup, MN. They made their home in Halstad where Loren was the manager of the Halstad Municipal Liquor Store.
Loren was a lifetime member of Halstad Lutheran Church, the Ada, MN, Louis J Hauge VFW Post, Halstad American Legion Post and the Halstad Fire Department. He enjoyed gardening, cards, fishing, hunting and taxidermy.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene, Halstad, MN; three children, Lori (Arnie) Orsland, Halstad, MN, Natalie (Rory) Nettum, Hillsboro, ND, Wade (Nita) Hauge, Halstad, MN; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Burnett Hauge, grandson, Brandon Orsland, and a granddaughter, Sarah Orsland.
Funeral Service: 2:00pm, Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Halstad Lutheran Church, Halstad, MN.
Visitation: Friday, June 10th from 5:00-7:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30pm, at the Fredrikson Valley Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.
Burial: Halstad South Cemetery.
