Lloyd Berg, age 88, of Twin Valley, MN, formerly Ada, MN, died Thursday, December
8, 2005, in the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley.
Lloyd C. Berg was born October 9, 1917, the son of John and Selma (Lee) Berg in
Saskatchewan, Canada. At age two, Lloyd moved with his family to a farm near
Hendrum, MN. As a youngster, he attended school in Ada, MN, and when he got older,
Lloyd worked for a farmer in the Ada area. During World War II, Lloyd enlisted in the
United States Army and served his country in Germany as a jeep driver. In 1942, Lloyd
was united in marriage to Louis Johnson. After his discharge the couple moved to
Spencer, Iowa, where Lloyd was employed on a farm. He later worked at a school in
Spencer in maintenance, for six years prior to his retirement. In 1982, Lloyd returned to
the Ada area. He entered the Twin Valley Living Center in 2003, where he had made
his home since.
Lloyd is survived by a son, Robin (Rita) of Phoenix, Arizona, two daughters, Brenda
King and Sheryl Smock both of Cheyenne, Wyoming; sisters, Florence Wichern of Ada,
MN, Norma Frattallone and Hazel Bongiovanni both of St. Paul, MN, Esther Schau of
Stillwater, MN; brothers, Chester of Ada, MN and Milo of Newport, MN; 12
grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and his special friends, Gordon and Delores
Olson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, a daughter, Sandra, a brother, Manley
and a sister, Stella.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2005 at 1:00 PM in Grace
Lutheran Church, Ada. Visitation will be Sunday, December 11 from 2:00 PM until
4:00 PM in the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley, and one hour before services at
the church on Monday. Officiating will be Pastor Nancy Jewell with Cammie Sorenson
serving as organist and Julie Thornton serving as vocalist. Pallbearers will be. Milo
Berg, Rod Braden, Doc Ruebke, Marvin Lee, Irving Lee and Jack Deitz. Military
Honors will be provided by the Ada Veterans Honor Guard.
Interment will take place in Twin Valley Memorial Garden, Twin Valley, MN.
