Liz Syverson, 55, Twin Valley, MN died Thursday, November 22, in the Palliative Care Unit of MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.
Lizabeth Ann Voje was born August 24, 1952, the daughter of Norman and Valia (Baltgalvis) Voje in Ada, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith in the Gary Lutheran Church in Gary, Minnesota. Liz grew up in the Gary community, attending school there and graduating from Gary High School with the class of 1970. As a young woman, Liz worked Minneapolis, Minnesota, then in Fargo, North Dakota being employed by Kings Food Host for a short time. On August 25, 1973, Liz was united in marriage to Marvin Ben Syverson at the Gary Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Moorhead, Minnesota for one year before moving to the Twin Valley community. For the next 27 years, Liz was employed by Hanson Hardware in Twin Valley. The past few years, Liz enjoyed spending her time as a homemaker.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley. Her favorite past times included doing crafts, but she treasured the time spent with her two grandchildren, Haley and Brady.
Liz is survived by her husband, Ben of Twin Valley, MN; daughters, DeAnn Syverson of Fargo, ND and Nicole (Jim) Boe of Twin Valley, MN; father, Norman Voje of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada; and two grandchildren, Haley and Brady Boe.
She is preceded in death by her mother, a son, Erik and a sister, Linda.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 26th at 2:00 PM in Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00PM until 5:00PM in the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley and one hour before services at the church on Monday. Officiating will be Pastor Charles Bade with Danette Gwin serving as organist and Monica Winter serving as vocalist. Pallbearers will be Mitch Syverson, Rick Syverson, Bryan Syverson, Donavan Moen, Scott Moen and Curtis Moen.
Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley, Minnesota.
