Obituary

Linn Sakrismo, 58, Twin Valley, MN, died on Monday, November 21, 2011, in Sanford Palliative Care at Fargo, ND.

Linn was born in Ada, MN, on December 10, 1952, to Lars and Alice (Jensvold) Sakrismo.
He was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Twin Valley, MN.
He graduated from Ulen-Hitterdal High School in 1971. He attended Bemidji State University for over three years. He then went to Fairbanks, Alaska, to live and work for the next two and a half years. He returned to Minnesota in the fall of 1977 and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in 1979 at Bemidji State University.

He married Jeri Lynn Busby on August 14, 1982, at Salem Lutheran Church in Hitterdal, MN. Linn and Jeri lived in the house Linn built in the woods. Linn and Jeri have three daughters, Amanda Ruth, Christine Ann, and Heidi Jean. Linn worked construction for over thirty years and twenty-five were with the Swenson Bros. of Flom. He then worked for the Shooting Star Casino until becoming disabled due to complications of his brain tumor. Linn had surgery for his brain tumor in 1992 and continued, as Linn would say, "to do my best." Despite Linn's health issues, he never complained and maintained his unique sense of humor to the very end.

Linn was active in Aspelund Lutheran Church, rural Flom, and served as Superintendent of Sunday School for over ten years as well as serving on the church council for many years. He served as clerk of Flom Township for twenty-five years, was a member of the Flom League of Men, and also an active member of the Immanuel Cemetery Association.

Linn was very precise and deliberate and marched to his own drum. He was a very kind man and always a welcoming host. He noticed, appreciated, and remembered life's gifts and details. Linn maintained his optimism and treasured family, friends, community, and life. Friday night poker with the in-laws always provided fun and entertainment for all. Linn's humor and cryptic remarks provided much of the entertainment.

Linn's greatest joys were his wife and three daughters. Linn is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Jeri, daughters, Amanda, Christine, and Heidi, one brother Stephen (Tammy), two sisters Sigrid (Jim) Beckstrom, and Sonja (Greg) Tigue, father-in-law Loyal (Ida) Busby, brothers and sisters-in-law, Sharon (Gene) Willgohs, Patricia Anderson, Linda (Mike) Rydjord, Mary (Raj) Karim, David Busby, Danny (Lori) Busby, Gail (Tom) Spillum, Paula (Breck) Wilson, Maureen (David) VanDenEinde, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lars and Alice, mother-in-law, Doloris Busby, and brother-in-law, Jerain "Jiggs" Anderson.

Visitation: Friday, November 25 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM in the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley, MN.
