Linda Tinjum, age 80, a lifelong resident of Ulen, MN, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the Benedictine Care Community, Ada, MN.

Linda Joyce Larson was born on January 9, 1943, in Keene Township (rural Ulen) to loving parents, Adolph and Clara (Olson) Larson. She was baptized and confirmed at Keene Lutheran Church. Linda attended school in Ulen, graduating with the class of 1961. It was at a local dance where fate intervened, and Linda met the love of her life, Bruce Tinjum. The couple exchanged vows on August 5, 1962, as the Atlanta Lutheran Church, rural Ulen. and together, they established their home on a farm just outside Ulen. Blessed with the joy of raising three wonderful children, Linda dedicated herself to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, offering unwavering support to her husband as they tended to their farm. Throughout the years, Linda faced numerous health challenges with remarkable courage and resilience, never allowing them to dim her spirit or weaken her dedication to her family.

Grandchildren were the light of Linda's life and she loved her role as devoted grandmother. Her freezer was never empty of her coveted chocolate chip cookies and her family was warmly wrapped in the many beautiful quilts she created for them. Linda's creative talents extended beyond quilting to sewing clothes and dresses for her family, including sewing her own wedding dress. Linda and Bruce attended many sporting events to cheer on their children and grandchildren over the years, as well as made many fond memories traveling.

A woman of deep faith, Linda shared her beliefs by teaching Sunday School and donating her time to the Atlanta Lutheran Church Ladies Aide. Angels held a special place in her heart and she collected over 50 beautiful angel statutes, as well as pictures and other pieces that brought her comfort and joy. Linda's family will have their own beautiful guardian angel watching over them.

Linda is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bruce Tinjum; children: Piper (Brent) Austinson, Perry (Melinda) Tinjum, and Paul (Dawn) Tinjum; grandchildren: Branden, Jason, Kristen (Jeremy), Marisa, Whitney (Tyler), William, Alex, Anders, and Peyton; great-grandchildren: Avril, Sadie, Easton, Morgan, and Marlow; sisters, Arlene Meyer and Judy Lucas; brothers, Gordon (Marion) Larson and Jeffery (Marilyn) Larson; brother-in-law, Teddy Tinjum; sisters-in-law: Virginia (Jerry) Johnson, Eleanor Leibbrand, Marilyn Tinjum, Marilyn Tinjum, Shirley Larson, and Helen Geiszler; and many nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws; grandson, PJ Tinjum; brother, Harvey Larson; sister, Barb (Gerald) Krabbenhoft; brothers-in-law: Al Meyer, Wilbur Leibbrand, Clayton Tinjum, Loren Geiszler and Rodger Tinjum; and sisters-in-law: Ingeborg (Jim) Magnusen, and Patricia Tinjum.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, with a prayer service starting at 4:30pm, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ulen. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 18, at 11:00am, with visitation 1 hour prior, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ulen. Interment will be at Atlanta Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ulen.
