Linda Jane Peterson, 56, of McIntosh, Minnesota, formerly of Winger, Minnesota, died Friday, September 21, 2007, in her home.

Linda was born on December 6, 1950 to Orville and Guida (Christianson) Peterson in Polk County, MN. She attended Winger Elementary School followed by McIntosh High School. Linda was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Winger, where she was a lifelong member. For many years, Linda was a dedicated caregiver to her mom, until her death in February of 2003. After living the majority of her life in the Winger Community, Linda's health required her to move to Poplar Meadows Senior Living of McIntosh in July of 2005.

Linda loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, liked going to her parent's cabin on Strawberry Lake and traveling with her mom. In 1998, Linda and Guida traveled to the west coast where they spent time with family, took in the sights of Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens and the Pacific Ocean. She followed her mother's old-fashioned traditions to become an excellent cook and baker, using only creams and butter. Linda shared her love of cooking and baking with her family by giving them her homemade goodies, including her bread and lefse. Linda was also very proud of her Beanie Bear Collection and enjoyed adding to it every chance she got.

Surviving Linda are three brothers: Donald (Sharon) of Portland, OR; Lynn (Judy) of Detroit Lakes, MN; Darryl (Carol) of Forrest Grove, OR; six nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews; three aunts: Alphina Mahle, Mentor, MN; Delores "Lolly" (Donald) Onstad, Detroit Lakes; Ardelle "Ardy" LaBlanc, Minneapolis, MN; and several cousins.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, several aunts and uncles.
