Linda Lou
Lindeman
Nov 19, 1943 — May 27, 2018
Robinsdale
Linda Lindeman, age 74, passed away on May 27, 2018 after a battle with pneumonia.
Linda Lou Lindeman was born on November 19, 1943 in Duluth, MN. Growing up, she lived most of her life in the Twin Valley and Ada, MN area. In 1954, Linda and her brothers were separated from their parents. Linda was placed at the Owatonna Children's Home for Dependent and Neglected Children in Owatonna, MN. She was trained as a nurses' aid and graduated in 1964. Linda moved back to the Ada area where she worked in Twin Valley Nursing Home for 30 years. While working there, she cared for Christine Hestad who had provided foster care for her and brother, Larry. Linda shared her life for many years with her dear friend, Bert. In 2005, Linda and Lew were reunited with her brother, Larry, after 50 years with the help of Edna Rude. At that time, Linda chose to move and live by her "baby brother" Larry in Minneapolis, MN. She moved into Walker on Lyndale where she began a lifetime friendship with Larry's sister-in-law, Nancy. They were two peas-in-a-pod even dressing alike at times. In 2012 due to her declining health, Linda began making her home at the Seek Home Adult Foster Care in Robbinsdale, MN where she shared donuts and coffee with Larry, Joanie, and her new constant companion, Violet. She sincerely cared and appreciated every one of her caretakers, especially Debbie.
Going out to dinner, taking walks, and baking chocolate chip cookies were some of the activities that Linda enjoyed. She was able to chop walnuts all the exact same size for the cookies she made with Nancy. Linda treasured her trips where she returned to the Ada area to visit her family and friends, especially Tim Fugleberg and Betty Kappes. Betty's coconut cream pies and all the goodies at the Wild Rice Emporium were a highlight of the trips. She would frequently question about all the grandchildren and enjoy seeing the pictures of them. A surprise visit from her little dog, Pepper, was a sure way to make her smile. Linda will be missed by her family and her countless friends she made throughout the years. Her handprints of tender care will be remembered by everyone.
Linda will be missed by her two brothers, Lewis (Carol) Lindeman of West Fargo, ND, and Larry (Joanie) Wiken of Minneapolis, MN; her nephews: Jim Lindeman, David Lindeman, and Philip (Rebecca) Wiken; her nieces, Carri Wiken and Candace (Brian) Turk; her aunt, Grace Lindeman Houska, of Waubun, MN; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, David and Selma (Lien)Lindeman; and her brother, Lol (Lowell) Lindeman.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9 th , 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Wooddale Church Chapel in Eden Prairie, MN. A second memorial service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley.
