Linda L. Carnegie, 68, Borup, MN, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Friday, December 19, 2025, at her home in Borup, MN.

Linda Louise Olich was born on April 24, 1957, to Allan and Marguerite (Miller) Olich at St. John's Hospital in Fargo, ND. She attended Borup school graduating with the class 1975. While attending school she worked at the Borup Café. After graduating high school, she studied ceramics at Sorterbergs. She also worked at the Long Branch Bar as well as Squirrleys.

She married Douglas Carnegie on June 21, 1986, at Winchester Lutheran Church in Borup, MN, where they made their home.

She worked at the Borup School as a cook who made the best cookies, and her kids would be sure to let her hear about it when her cookies weren't made that day.

At night Linda bartended at Wild Bills/Freddies/AJs Bar in Borup until she became sick in October of 2004 with Goodpasture Syndrome, doing dialysis until switching to home dialysis until a kidney became available. She received a live donor kidney in February of 2007.

She was a member of Winchester Lutheran Church, the Borup Community Club, and Borup Rescue Squad and Fire Department, she loved to help anyone who needed it. Linda spent a lot of time with her "2nd Mama," Bev Walsberg, transporting her to appointments and making stops at the China Buffet for lunch.

Linda loved art, especially drawing, painting, ceramics, baking and cooking. She loved spending time in her flower beds and at the lake on South Twin, making honey do lists for Doug to work on. She and Stephan had many projects they did and many shopping trips they enjoyed together. She loved spending her days snuggling with her baby Ollie who misses her dearly.

She had many hobbies, but her favorite time was spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren any chance she got. Her kids and grandkids meant the world to her.

Linda is survived by her husband, Doug; son, Stephan, both of Borup, MN; daughters, Leslie Hilde of Borup, MN, Jessica Carnegie (fiancé Brian Urlacher) of Waubun, MN, and Rosalie Neset (John Neset) of Dilworth, MN; grandchildren, Shawnae and Sheyenne Hilde, Emily, Izabella, and Joshua Neset, and Conner Urlacher; mother-in-law, Irene Carnegie of Detroit Lakes, MN, uncles, Les Olich, and Paul Olich; aunt, Gail Olich; many cousins; and her many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite and Allan; one brother, Steven Allan; father-in-law, Benny Carnegie; and many aunts, uncles and friends.

A time to gather and celebrate Linda's memory will take place at 2:00 PM, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Winchester Lutheran Church in Borup, MN.
