Linda Aanenson, age 78, of Backus, MN, formerly of Twin Valley, MN, died on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at her home in Backus, MN, surrounded by family.
Linda Charleen Anderson was born April 1, 1942 in Hawley, MN, to Ingvald and Cynthia Anderson of Hitterdal, MN.
On June 23, 1963, Linda married the love of her life, Leland Aanenson. Together they made their home in Twin Valley. The couple was blessed with a daughter. Throughout the years, Linda and Leland did some farming, raising several animals and tended to their home. They went to several auction sales where Leland would buy machinery and Linda started her hand at antiques. Together, they would buy and sell their goods. Linda also worked for the Twin Valley Nursing Home as a CNA. Linda was known for her green thumb. She always enjoyed maintaining her large vegetable garden. She did a lot of canning, freezing, and selling of her fresh produce to local farmers markets. Linda and Leland enjoyed spending time with their friends and family to play cards. Their favorite card game was "Abort". Also, spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren was always cherished. Linda was a very special mom and grandma. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her husband, Leland; daughter, Leanne (Ben) Pollock; two grandchildren, Tessa (Jeff) Kriesel and Tara (Joe) Stang; six great grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Roger) Spillum; and a brother, Jerry (Joann) Anderson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ingvald and Cynthia Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley.
Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, social distancing will be practiced, and all must wear a mask to participate.
