Lily Bueng's Obituary
Lily L. Bueng, age 86 of Twin Valley, MN died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley, MN.
Lily L. Bueng was born November 22, 1928 near Twin Valley, MN, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Blomfeild) Hall. She grew up south of Twin Valley and attended country school. On May 9, 1947, she and Garfield Bueng were united in marriage at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage in Twin Valley. They made their home south of Twin Valley until 1961, when they moved into town. Over the years, Lily was employed at Odin's Market, Halvorson Clothing and Schoephoerster's Variety Store in addition to raising their three children. Over the years, Lily worked in the kitchen in the Twin Valley School part-time, and was also the custodian at the Twin Valley post office for several years. Lily was well known for her cooking and always had time for visiting with her friends over a cup of coffee. She enjoyed crocheting, was on a bowling league for years and spent hours tending her flower gardens. Lily's grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the greatest joy and the memories she made with them will never be forgotten.
Lily was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was active in the ladies aid and the quilting group. Lily was also a member of the Twin Valley American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Garfield, Twin Valley, MN; one daughter, Pam (Joe Kaiser) Bueng, Mahnomen, MN; two sons, Leslie (Mara), Audubon, MN and Conrad, Moorhead, MN; three sisters: Evelyn Knutson, Eleveth, MN, Louise Moe, Twin Valley, MN and Alice Tunks, Mekinock, ND; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Lily was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers and one daughter-in-law.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 26th at 4:00pm in the Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley. Visitation was Friday, September 25th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, Twin Valley. Pastor Sarah Dille officiated with Danette Gwen serving as organist. Pallbearers were Mike Bueng, Randy Bueng, Brian Bueng, Brian Hall, Bradley Hall and Johnny Moe.
Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
