Lillian Trusty, age 81, of Waubun, MN, died Sunday, September 08, 2013, at Sanford Health Care Systems in Fargo, ND.
Lillian Charlotte Martin was born July 12, 1932, the daughter of Emanuel and Cecelia (Helms) Martin. Her school years were spent in the communities of Wilton, ND, and Wing, ND. On November 13, 1949, Lillian was united in marriage to Floyd Trusty of Tuttle, ND. The couple made their home in several towns in North Dakota before settling in the Waubun area in 1967.
While living on the farm, Lillian worked alongside Floyd with the daily chores of farming and raising dairy cattle in addition to tending to their growing family. In the early 1990's, they retired and moved from the farm into their home in Waubun. Floyd passed away on October 13, 2007, and Lillian remained in their home until her death.
Some of the things Lillian enjoyed were the simple things in life. She loved to dance and enjoyed baking and tending to her small garden in town. Listening to country music, especially Hank Williams, and working word find puzzles passed the time. Lillian faithfully watched her favorite soap operas and the Hallmark Channel. She will be greatly missed by all of her family.
Lillian is survived by six sons: Jerry, Detroit Lakes, MN, Allen (Angie), Sulphur, OK, Ronald, Waubun, Raymond, Pelican Rapids, MN, Steven (Theresa), Waubun, and Darryl (Carmen), Ottertail, MN; three daughters: Peggy Morris, Wing, ND, Susan (Arnie) Koski, Detroit Lakes, and Janice (Leonard) Steichen, Mahnomen; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clifford (Dorothy) Martin, Wyoming, and Lloyd (Bernandine) Martin, Wilton, ND; three sisters: Betty Johnson, Duluth, MN, Loretta (Dave) Ouellette, Moorhead, MN, and Nancy (Harold) Mund, Bismarck, ND; one sister-in-law, Gale Trusty, St. Cloud, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Floyd, Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Judy Martin; brother, James Martin; a daughter-in-law, Sue Trusty; and son-in-law, Keith Morris.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen, MN, with visitation one hour prior to the funeral.
Interment was held at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
