Lillian Bodding, 98, of Ada, MN, died Friday, December 13, 2013, at Essentia Health, Ada.
Lillian Bodding was born October 11, 1915 in DeLamere, ND to Lars and Mathilda (Tennefos) Johnson. While still an infant the family moved to the Milnor, ND area. She attended rural school in Shuman Township. She graduated from Milnor High School in 1932 and then attended Wahpeton State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. She was employed by the Farm Security Administration in Forman, ND and Lincoln, NB.
Lillian moved to Ada in 1940 and was employed as a bookkeeper at the Ada Elevator Company and Bodding Lumber yard. She was united in marriage to Bloyd Bodding on June 4, 1941. He died June 2, 1959. In 1970, she started working for the Stanley C. Olson law firm which later became the Olson, Oistad and Opheim law firm. She retired in 1984.
Lillian was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church and Grace Lutheran Church women. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and served on many boards in both organizations. She was a member of the 20th Century Study Club since 1950. Lillian loved music, reading, sports, the outdoors and summers at her lake home.
Lillian is survived by three daughters: Brenda (LaVern) Woltjer, Willmar, MN; Mary (Thomas) Norton, Hollis, NH; Rebecca Bodding, Richfield, MN; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bloyd, daughter, Marsha, her parents, one sister, Evelyn Sittko, and five brothers, Johnny, Bernard, Morris, Harold, and Clifford.
Funeral: 11:00AM Monday, December 16, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.
Visitation: One hour before the service at church.
Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
