Lester Hanson, 78, Ulen, Minnesota died Saturday, January 27, 2007 in the MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.

Lester Severin Hanson was born January 11, 1929, the son of Severin J. and Clara (Gilbertson) Hanson in Hillsboro, North Dakota. Lester attended county school in Norway Township west of Hillsboro. In 1943, Lester moved with his family to a farm west of Ulen, Minnesota, in Hagen Township. He finished his education at the Ulen school. Lester spent his life doing what he enjoyed most, farming and raising cattle with his brothers, Gunder and Ted near Ulen. Since his brother, Ted's death, in March of 2001, he had continued to live and farm with Gunder.

Lester loved the outdoors, farming, spending time at auction sales and he enjoyed music. He also enjoyed the company of his dog, Tipy.

Lester is survived by three sisters, Bernice Nixon of Fredrick, SD, Loretta Heasley of Onida, SD and Violet (Vernon) Jacobson of Twin Valley, MN; one brother, Gunder of Ulen, MN and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Theodore.

Funeral services will be Thursday February 1, 2007, at 1:00 PM in the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Paul Sporleder and Frank Andreen, Associate Pastor. Providing music will be Paul and Dell Sporleder and Frank and Patty Andreen. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his nieces and nephews.

Burial will be this spring in the Aal Cemetery, Hillsboro, ND.
