Wade Oren, age 81, of Ulen, MN, formerly of Felton, MN, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the Twin Valley Living Center in Twin Valley, MN.
LeRoy Wade Oren was born on November 4, 1935, to Walter and Arnolda (Matson) Oren in Ada, MN. He was raised on a farm near Ulen until his family moved to Felton in the 1940's. As a child, Wade attended school in Felton where he later graduated with the class of 1954. Following his graduation, he went on to study at the University of Minnesota. After one year of college, Wade joined the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1959 after which he returned to Felton. Wade made his career farming and putting up hay with his father and brothers.
Wade had an eye for classic cars and old tractors. He truly enjoyed the simpler things in life. He never purchased a television for his home, but made his own entertainment driving for miles each and every day to witness the natural beauty of the scenery and visit with locals. Wade loved to eat out and was a well-known customer at the Felton Café and the Fryin' Pan in Moorhead, MN. His little chats and spontaneous visits will be forever treasured by his family, neighbors and friends.
Wade is survived by one sister, Carol Schwalbe of St. Louis Park, MN; two brothers, Steve Oren of New Brighton, MN, and Tim Oren of Felton, MN; two nieces, Christina (Bryan) Rasmussen and Brittany (Andrew) Gagne; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Raivo Schwalbe.
