Leonard Wening, age 61, of Mahnomen, MN, died on Friday, November 20, 2015, at home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. He was surrounded in love by his wife and family following a long battle with prostate cancer.
Leonard Louis Wening was born October 14, 1954, in Littlefork, MN, to Ronald and Irene (Tuttle) Wening. He was one of three boys. On April 9, 1979, he married Rebecca Uran in Anoka, MN. They had two sons and Leonard worked as an OTR trucker. Leonard had a knack for fixing things and loved to tinker around. He also had the gift of gab and loved to brag about his boys and their families.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 36 years, Becky, his sons, Ron (Alesha) of Savage, MN and Tim (Treannah) of Blaine, MN, his grandchildren; Payton, Lyndsey, Deacon, Isaac and Alex, brothers Don and Mike of Littlefork, MN, his mom Irene, of Littlefork, MN, his Uran family in-laws, Lowell (Barb), Marilyn, Robyn, Harriet, Janice, Shelly and Rod, all of Blaine, MN, Jerry (Denise), Dick (Nancy) of Waubun, MN, and Tom of Naytahwaush, MN and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Preceding him in death was his loving father Ron Wening and brothers-in-law, Zip and Larry Uran.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date in Blaine, MN.
