Leland Dahl, 70, of Borup, MN died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in the Golden Living Center, Moorhead, MN.
Leland Bert Dahl was born July 13, 1942 the son of Anton and Ella (Rage) Dahl in Ada, MN. He was raised on the family farm four miles east of Borup. Leland attended school in Borup, graduating with the class of 1961. After graduation, Leland spent several years working on the farm with his brother, Allen. He then was employed by Olson Well Drilling of Halstad, MN for over 20 years. After that, Leland worked as a custodian for the Ada School District and later the Gary School systems. Leland retired due to his health. He had lived in his home east of Borup for a number of years, but about two years ago he moved to an apartment in Fargo so he could be closer to dialysis facilities.
Leland was a life time member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church where he was head usher for many years. Leland's favorite pastimes included: doing jigsaw puzzles, fishing, hunting, attending auction sales, going to county fairs, taking a drive in the country, and his farm tractors as well as toy tractors.
Leland is survived by his brothers, Allen (Naomi) Dahl of Borup, MN and Jerry (Jewel) Dahl of Felton, MN; sisters, Luverne (Kenneth) Hviding of Crookston, MN and Elaine (Paul) Gustafson of Rochester, MN; one sister in law Doris, Borup, MN and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dorothy Mae and brother, David.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Jevnaker Lutheran Church, rural Borup, MN. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Officiating was Pastor Bill Helland with special music provided by the family. Pallbearers were Leland's nephews.
Burial was in Jevnaker Lutheran Cemetery, rural Borup.
