Obituary

Lawrence Pollock, age 72, of Ulen, Minnesota, died Sunday, November 4, 2007, in Innovis Health, Fargo, North Dakota.

Lawrence D. Pollock was born January 1st, 1935, the son of Benjamin and Edna (Jensen) Pollock in Fargo, North Dakota. As a youngster, Lawrence was raised on a farm east of Ulen. He attended country school near there and graduated from Ulen High School with the class of 1952. On May 9th, 1953, Lawrence was united in marriage to JoAnn Booth at Ulen. The couple made their home in Silver Bay, Minnesota, where Lawrence was employed in the iron mines. After a few years, they then moved back to the Ulen community where they farmed and raised their family. Lawrence was also employed by American Crystal Sugar Company in Moorhead, Minnesota, for five years in the 1990's. He continued to farm during this time, retiring just a few years ago.

Lawrence was a member of the Water Shed Board for many years. He also enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 54 years, JoAnn of Ulen, MN; daughters, Wanda (Jim) Ashmore of Ulen, MN, Benita (Dean) Olson of Lake Park, MN, Cathy (Leonard) Lackmann of North Manchester, Indiana; sons, Larry (Cara Wald) of Georgetown, MN and Loren "Snooky" (Lori) of Alta Vista, KS; a brother, Jim (Avis) of Omaha, NE; sister, Dorothy Wang of Elcho, WI; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 8th at 2:00 PM in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ulen. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 7th from 5PM until 7PM with a Prayer Service at 7PM all at the church. Visitation will also be one hour before services at the church on Thursday. Officiating will be Pastor John Martinson with Carol Lockhart serving as organist and Milissa Soodsma serving as vocalist. Pallbearers will be Jim Amundson, Jon Ambeuhl, Joel Burda, Kent Burda, Mark Pollock and Doug Pollock.

Interment will be in North Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen.
