Lawrence "Larry" Larson Sr., age 62, of White Earth, MN, died on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Lawrence Lewis, the son of Erwin and Ida (Derby) Larson, was born on March 4, 1959, in Moorhead, MN.  He grew up in the Detroit Lakes, MN area attending school in both Frazee and Park Rapids.  Larry and his brothers spent much of their time helping area farmers.  Larry has been a lifelong mechanic.  As a child, he was always tinkering with motors, beginning with lawn mowers and snowmobiles, and working towards larger projects.  He later enrolled in Detroit Lakes Vo-tech College, where he formally studied engine repair.    In college, Larry met the love of his life, Nancy Brown.  The couple was married on April 6, 1979, and they have spent their life together since.  Larry worked as a timber technician for a time and served in the conservation department for the White Earth Nation.  He also worked with the Detroit Lakes Street Department and White Earth Housing in heavy equipment.  But Larry's true passion called him back to "the Garage."  For the past many years, Larry has proudly owned and operated "Double L Repair." He was a master of engines and could fix nearly anything.  Larry especially loved working on cars and vintage tractors.  He also enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee and a great hamburger!  With his great sense of humor, extreme patience, and calming personality, Larry shared peace with all those around him. His faith in God and the love for his family was evident throughout his life.  Larry cherished his family. His granddaughters, who Larry and Nancy where raising, were his pride and joy.  He had a giving heart and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Larry is survived by his wife, Nancy; two children, Caroline and Matthew; five brothers: Terry, Kerwin, Kevin (Diantha), Lorin, and Linus (Rosemary); four sisters: Kathy, Sharlene, Sharold, and Lavonne; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandchild; as well as his in-law's: Ken (Aurelia) Brown, Pastor Tim (Tammy) Brown, Frank Brown, and Bev (Jim) Libby, and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lawrence Jr. "JR"; one sister, Kennera; and in-law's, Jolene, Delores, Mae and Joe, August, Thomas, Ronnie, Ralph, Roger, and Jesse.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Assembly of God Church in White Earth, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Assembly of God church.  Visitation will continue until the time of the funeral on Friday. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 pm each evening.  Burial will take place at Chief Cornerstone Cemetery, White Earth.
