Laura Schaumburg, age 60, of Winger, MN, died on Friday, October 4, 2019, at her home.

Laura Lee Jensen was born February 19, 1959, in Minneapolis, MN, to Earl and Mary (Richard) Jensen.  Growing up she lived in the Clearwater, MN, and Minneapolis areas, graduating from St. Cloud Tech with the class of 1978.  After high school, Laura furthered her education at the University of Minnesota in Crookston, MN. While attending college she met Michael Schaumburg.  Laura and Michael where united in marriage and blessed with five children. They later divorced in 2001.  Over the years, Laura lived in Mahnomen, MN, Bejou, MN, Fosston, MN, and Burnsville, MN, before settling at her home in Winger. She was employed at the Cenex Convenience Store in Bejou and with the Mahnomen Public School.  She also spent many years working at Pinehurst Resort.  Laura always believed in working hard and passed that work ethic onto her children.

Laura cherished spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a wonderful cook and happiest when in the kitchen.  Laura also enjoyed playing cards, sewing, spending time with friends over a cup of coffee and her pets. She loved all animals.

Laura is survived by two sons, Luke Schaumburg of Winger, MN, and Wayne Schaumburg of Bemidji, MN; three daughters: Mary Jo Schaumburg of Alexandria, MN, Jennifer Schaumburg of Crookston, MN, and Samantha Dibblee of Bejou, MN; eight grandchildren; four brothers: Mark, Matt, Don and Clifford Jensen; four sisters: Monica Kerr, Rosemary Adams, Yvonne Courtney and Anita Donlop; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and extended family.

A Time of Gathering will be held at 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bejou, MN.
