Larry A. Christenson, 83, Hawley, MN, formerly of Ada, MN, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Larry Allen Christenson was born on June 26, 1940 near Colfax, North Dakota, the only child of Alvin and Alma (Aarhus) Christenson. Larry grew up on a farm and attended school in Colfax.

He enjoyed playing high school basketball and softball in the summer. He played guitar in school and later played in area bands. He played with the Bonanza Steamers entertaining at nursing homes and with his granddaughter, Meagen.

Larry married Janis Anderson in 1985 in Ada, MN. He was a farmer most of his life and worked at the Wahpeton, ND beet plant during the winter months. He also worked at Centre in Fargo, ND and for the City of Ada. He enjoyed visiting with Colfax neighbors; the Rustad's, Casperson's, Peterson's, and his cousins.

Larry lived in the Hawley Assisted Living for the past two years and was a member of the Hawley Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janis; stepchildren, Kenny Anderson, Fargo, ND, Gayle (Todd Finn) Spearfish, SD, and Dwight Anderson (Jennifer), Moorhead, MN; 16 grandchildren, Kristina (Joey Martinson), Tony Paquin, Dylan Finn, Sebastian Anderson, Fred Anderson, Annamarie Anderson, John Anderson (Morgan), Michael Anderson (Lorie), Meagen Solie (Bryce), Nick Anderson, Savannah Anderson, Ella Anderson, Kayla Barr (Austin), Brandon Brown, Nathan Brown, Gage Reider; great grandchildren, Mia, Jalen and Mara Anderson, Natalie and Malia Anderson, Morgan Solie, and Peter and baby girl Barr due in December.

Memorial Service: 3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the memorial service at the funeral home.

Inurnment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
