Kristi Morley, age 40 of Mahnomen, MN, died on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the Mahnomen Health Center.
Kristi LaRae Warren was born May 11, 1968 in Detroit Lakes, MN. She spent her first five years on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation before moving to Minneapolis, MN. She attended St. Albert Catholic School and later graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis. Following high school, Kristi and James Longfield together had three children: James, Anthony, and Stephanie.
Kristi later moved to Detroit Lakes, MN and attended Northwest Vocational College. After studying Chef Training she graduated in 1989.
In 1994, Kristi met Michael Morley. Together they made their home in Detroit Lakes where they raised their son, Erik, daughter, Pamela and twin sons, Dana and Dava. In 1995, they moved to White Earth, MN where they lived until moving to Waubun in 1997. Kristi worked for several years at the Shooting Star Casino in the housekeeping department. Michael and Kristi were united in marriage on May 8, 1999 in Mahnomen. They purchased a home in Mahnomen in October of that year where they continued to make their home with their children.
Kristi truly treasured her family, especially her children and grandchildren. While keeping busy with seven children, she also kept an immaculate house. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and occasionally playing at the casino. Kristi liked going to Pow Wows, listening to the traditional music and watching her children dance. She also liked fishing and spending time outdoors.
Kristi is survived by her husband, Michael along with seven children: James (Tammy Guenther) Longfield, Anthony Longfield, Stephanie (Luke Wadena) Longfield, Erik Warren, Pamela Morley, Dana Morley and Dava Morley, all of Mahnomen; two granddaughters, Michelle Wadena and Nia Longfield of Mahnomen; her mother, Ivy Ailport of Ogema; three brothers: Dale (Becky) Warren, Marcus (Lisa) Warren and Daniel Warren, all of Ogema, MN; and two sisters, Norma (Francis White) Jacobson of Mahnomen and Jena Ailport of Ogema, MN. Kristi was preceded in death by her father, John Warren; step-father Harry Ailport; sister, Pamela Warren; and niece, Amber Crosby.
Funeral Services will take place on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in White Earth, MN. Visitation will be held at the White Earth Community Center on Thursday, December 4, 2008 beginning at 5PM and continuing until the funeral service on Friday.
A Traditional Wake Ceremony will be held at 7PM on Thursday at the Community Center. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in White Earth.
